Education Gold Coast introduces Illawarra Hospital School in Wollongong, for all your education and learning needs.
The Illawarra Hospital School is situated in the Children's Ward of Wollongong Hospital. We provide an educational service for students to Year 12. Preschoolers are welcome as part of our Kindergarten Orientation program. Students who are admitted to other wards of the Hospital are visited by the teacher, but where possible they are brought to the school.
The length of stay of our students varies from days to months or may involve recurrent admissions. Parents are welcome in the school and interaction is encouraged.
The school provides a happy, safe and supportive environment assisting students to maintain their educational program so as to facilitate a smooth transition back to their home school.
The school offers a Day Student Program to those students who, on the advice of their specialist doctor, are unable to return to their home school. The length of stay at the school varies and is dependent on their doctor's recommendations.
