Education Gold Coast introduces Institute For Frontier Materials in Waurn Ponds, for all your education and learning needs.
The Institute for Frontier Materials (IFM) at Deakin University is one of the leading groups for materials science and engineering research in Australia.
IFM evolved from a research group within the School of Engineering to address some of the major challenges facing society through innovations in materials design and performance. Our key research areas fall under two main themes:
Located at Deakin University’s Geelong Campus at Waurn Ponds, IFM combines a balance of applied and fundamental research, focusing on advanced materials, nanotechnology, energy storage and infrastructure durability.
IFM’s success has been underpinned by the development of world class facilities, including a world-first pilot-scale carbon fibre research facility.
IFM is also training the next generation of students and researchers who are skilled at working between technology interfaces in growing and dynamic industries. About 150 postgraduate students from all over the world are pursuing their studies at IFM. Our international focus also includes collaborative projects with researchers in India, China, Europe and North America.
Our researchers bring together engineering, chemistry, materials science, physics, biology, mathematics and other disciplines to develop new materials and engineering solutions.
Welcome to Institute For Frontier Materials one of the popular educators in your Waurn Ponds area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other’s uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
