Education Gold Coast introduces Southport State School in Southport, for all your education and learning needs.
Southport State School celebrated its 125th year in 2005. The school has had a rich history over those years and has educated many of the Southport community.
The school now has approximately 560 students including Preparatory, and also has a Special Education Program that caters for intellectually impaired, autistic and physically impaired students. All of these special needs children are fully included in all classrooms.
Technology plays an important part in the school curriculum. Technology is used extensively as part of an integrated curriculum. Most recently we have improved access to technology with the completion of our new stand-alone Technology building.
The school most recently benefited from Federal Government funding with the completion of a new multi purpose hall and resource centre extension.
A rich array of musical and sporting opportunities is available in our school. The school has won many musical awards with bands and choir, and has had state and national representatives in the sporting arena.
