Mainsbridge School provides quality educational programs for students with moderate and severe intellectual disabilities from Kindergarten to Year 12. The school has an enrolment of 116 students and 16 classes. Students are enrolled after a successful referral is made to the regional placement panel. Over 85% of students access student transport provided by the Department of Education and Training (DET).School facilities include a well equipped gross motor and softplay room, a multi-sensory room, attractive and functional outdoor play areas, computer networking to all areas, a connected classroom and Interactive Whiteboards in all classrooms. Mainsbridge incorporates Positive Behaviour Intervention Support (PBIS) in all teaching and learning programs to increase student engagement. PBIS also ensures the Core Values of NSW Public Education are reflected in our school rules which are taught during a specialised social skills program. A visual communication program including a picture communication system is in place throughout the school to assist students to communicate appropriately.Each student has an Individual Education Plan (IEP) which has been developed collaboratively with parents and carers.All teaching programs are based on the Board of Studies K-6 Syllabus for primary students and the School Certificate and Higher School Certificate in Life Skills for our high school students.
