Christ the King Catholic Primary school is a welcoming and inclusive community that has served families for over 50 years. The school motto, Christ is the Key ensures the values, teachings and life of Jesus Christ are lived out on a day-to-day basis.
The school places a strong emphasis on developing a sense of compassion and social justice, with students actively involved in raising money for our partner parish of Mary Immaculate Viqueque, East Timor.
A culture of academic achievement is strongly emphasised and nurtured at Christ the King. With a personalised approached to learning, we endeavor to meet the needs of all children. Regular assessments of students in all learning areas provide staff with the information they need to progress each child to the next stage of learning.
Regular and ongoing feedback to students through learning conversations (between teacher and student) support students to take the next step with their learning. Student Assessment Portfolios keeps parents informed and engaged in the learning process.
Technology is used as a tool to support learning, via the use of chrome-books and iPads. Students in the Senior Learning Community have a personal blog to track their learning journey and report assessments to parents.
A vibrant Arts program enables students to experience both Visual and Performing arts. The School Musical and Visual Arts Show provide students with an authentic audience to express their creativity.
The three keys to School Wide Positive Behaviour program include Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. These keys to positive behaviour are explicitly taught and further support the lessons around Social and Emotional learning. Our approach to school wide positive behaviour and social and emotional learning lay the foundations for creating a safe and orderly environment that sets students up for success and achievement.
As a Family School Partnership school, we encourage and welcome parents to engage with their child’s learning. Regular Learning Walks and Community Conversations allow parents to take part in their child’s learning.
