The Assumption School aims to develop initiative, confidence and personal excellence in all students.
The Assumption School is part of the Bathurst Diocesan School System. The school was founded in 1952 by the Sisters of St Joseph, and has always had a strong family focus and a deep respect for the dignity of each person.
Back to basics - Learning programs develop each student's ability to learn, to think critically and creatively and to communicate effectively. Emphasis is on Literacy and Numeracy.
The Assumption's Curriculum has clearly defined outcomes. These guide the teaching throughout K-6.
Welfare - The caring, welfare orientated staff provide extensive support in all areas of school life, encouraging the pursuit of personal excellence and positive attitudes for life-long education.
Technology - The Assumption offers students an innovative curriculum with well resourced classrooms and library. Every room including the Special Education Room has on-line connection within the school and with the Internet.
Religious Education - The Assumption School offers Religious Education in which all learning programs consider and actively teach Gospel Values. Children will be well informed about Catholic faith, traditions, religious issues and be prepared to receive the Sacraments.
Involvement - Cultural and sporting opportunities exist for wider social interaction through close liaison with district and interstate schools.
Special Education - The Assumption has in place programs and structures that cater for students with special learning requirements e.g. Special Education, Integration and Gifted and Talented groups.
