Education Gold Coast introduces St Brigid's Catholic School New Norfolk in New Norfolk, for all your education and learning needs.
St Brigid’s Catholic School opened in 1926 under the care of the Sisters of Charity. For the next 25 years they were to shape the form of Catholic Education in the Derwent Valley. The School initially catered for primary grades and then extended into secondary education for girls. In 1950 the Presentation Sisters assumed responsibility for St. Brigid's and very ably managed the School until 1993 when the first lay Principal Mr Seán Gill was appointed.
The present school principal is Ms Joy Matar.
Progressive change, ongoing development and an attention to the Catholic culture and ethos of St Brigid's have since its inception been the corner stones of the school.
The current school enrolment is approximately 220 students from Kindergarten to Grade 6. Slightly more than half of the student population lives in New Norfolk whilst the remainder come from townships or farms in the surrounding areas.
Our School Motto, upon which the St. Brigid's Catholic School Vision and Mission Statement are based, is 'Virtue and Knowledge'.
Welcome to St Brigid's Catholic School New Norfolk one of the popular educators in your New Norfolk area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other’s uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
